Pet Owners

At VetSurg we are driven by a shared passion for animals and a dedication to excellence.

Our compassion, empathy, and respect form the foundation of our commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of animals and the people who love them.

The initial visit

Be sure to bring all relevant information from your primary care veterinarian, if this has not been emailed to us already.
Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time to fill out any forms required.
Please do not feed your pet for 12 hours prior to your appointment, unless otherwise advised. This is so we can perform procedures under anaesthesia if required.
If you are unable to make your appointment, please provide us with 24 hours notice.

The referral process

Your primary care veterinarian will complete an online referral form.
Our surgical coordinator will be in contact to arrange an appointment.
Our team will keep your primary care veterinarian updated throughout your pet’s treatment.

Having my pet in hospital

While your pet is in hospital, you are welcome to visit. This can be arranged with our patient care team.
You are welcome to leave blankets or toys with your pets.
Please advise us on admission if your pet has any special dietary requirements.
Overnight care and weekend care, if required, is provided by the experienced team at Perth Vet Emergency, located in the same building.

Discharge

Our team will provide you with a written summary of care, and discuss your pet’s post-operative care with you in detail.
We will be available during our opening hours to answer any other questions you may have during your pet’s recovery.
For urgent matters outside our opening hours, the team at Perth Vet Emergency will be able to examine your pet and provide the appropriate care.

Rechecks

Your pet will need to be checked by our team occasionally after the procedure. This will be advised at discharge.
General rechecks are performed at no charge to you.
If there are to be any charges for repeat examinations, you will be advised ahead of time.

Payment

We know that it can be stressful having your pet in hospital. We will always communicate costs and expectations with you prior to any procedures.
A deposit will be required prior to admission for any diagnostics or treatments. A signed consent form will be required as well.
Additional deposits or consent forms may be required if treatment becomes more complex than initially discussed.
Full payment is required on discharge from the hospital.
We are excited to partner with GapOnly for select insurance providers, and also accept VetPay and ZipMoney.
